Leah...what great ideas. Thank you so much for posting.
Could you tell me what kind of shelves you have under your table? Are they very deep? I have some shelves here that I try to place my tissue paper, but it just slides off because they are not deep enough.
Also where do you purchase your butcher paper, or do you use newspaper print paper? I recycle every bit that comes into the house here....but they are all stored inside large trash sacks.
I bought a large plastic bag of peanuts, but that has proved to be a totally disastrous mess. I need one of those hoppers...lol.
Thanks again for sharing! We need photos!

My system is a constant work in progress, but a real work table for packing and shipping has made a huge difference for me. I found an extra tall sturdy wooden table when a shop was going out of business and selling fixtures for cheap. (I am over 5'9" and can relate to the pains a short table can cause.)
I keep packing and scotch tape, scissors, fragile & do not bend stamps, and labels on one side of the table. The rest is all work space. There are shelves underneath for tissue paper, envelopes, plastic bags, etc. To the right of it I have another flea market find - an old fashioned paper stand that holds the butcher paper rolls that I use. It adds a fun touch to my otherwise "early yard sale" decor.
My inventory of packing supplies has taken over a closet. I think you will feel much better once you clear off your work surface & keep your overflow of supplies out of your way.
My inventory is another story. My husband has no idea how I find anything, but my shelving system works for me. He wanted to put it all in boxes with labels...which would never ever work for me. I have to see the items. I will watch your blog for ideas from other people - I learn a lot from other sellers!

Sandy it sounds wonderful.
I am thinking of using a 6' table for shipping as well, however, I want to add some height to it. I am over 6' tall and stooping over the table is hard on my back. I guess I could try to ship sitting down...lol.
I talked to DH today about pulling everything out of the room and starting over. The main problem with that is that it is not a one day deal...and the rest of the house would suffer-- with the office items stacked in various rooms-- until the transformation was complete.
Facebook has been giving me trouble with uploading stuff lately, so it might actually be FB and not your computer. I can hardly wait to see your photos!
Thanks for taking the time to post over her Sandy!

I am lucky because I have 1/2 of a finished basement that I use for my packing, storing and office space. I have white plastic shelves around the room for items to be researched/listed. Bubble wrap is in two plastic tubs piled a mile high (one for small & one for large bubble), boxes are standing upright against a wall, by size, next to the packing table. My packing table is a 6' long folding table that holds my scale, fax machine, business cards, inserts, tape & tape gun, fragile stamp, and all the items to be packed along with their invoice. I am trying to post pictures of my working area on my FB fan page, but my computer freezes when I try to upload. :-)

CindyDianne-
Thanks for being my first comment on this blog.
Congrats on your movement forward on the challenge. I had not thought about using Craigslist for another avenue of "stuff" removal. I once found a new home for an entire tank full of beautiful guppies on Freecycle though.
Between me still feeling pretty darn sick and league basketball yesterday, I didn't get my stuff posted. Hoping to get my meager stats posted today.
